v610 Blade / Processor Blade SBI-7125W-S6

MDS vSeries Blades

MDS Micro vSERIES™

Blade Servers are built specifically for virtualization to address key bottleneck issues generally seen within virtualized environments. Applying mds's meticulous design philosophy to modular computing, the vSERIES™ is a revolutionary high-performance blade server system featuring both Intel® Xeon 5400/5300/5200/5100 series and AMD Opteron™ 8000/2000 series processors. vSERIES™ is precision-engineered with the utmost in flexibility, high availability and reliability. Chassis management modules, Gigabit Ethernet switch modules, 10-Gigabit Ethernet pass-thru switch modules, InfiniBand switch modules as well as 3+1 redundant high-efficiency power supplies keep the system running 24 x 7 at peak performance.

High Density Computing Technology

v610™, a member of the MDS Micro vSeries™ server family, is optimized for small-medium business as well as personal HPC applications. With acoustically enhanced thermal and cooling technologies, v610™ can operate at or below 50dB with 10 DP server blades.

v610™ Features

Super low noise – 50dB with 10 DP blades

Energy efficiency – 93% efficiency power supply, DDR2 memory

Density & performance – 10 DP blades with 20 Quad-Core Xeon processors per 7U enclosure

Ease of Use – easy set up with remote management tools

Flexibility – two or four 100-240VAC power supplies, optional small racks with door and air filter, optional Gigabit Ethernet switch or pass-through module, etc.

High availability – N+1 redundant power supplies, redundant modules - chassis management

Gigabit ethernet switch or pass-through module

High-performance storage – 3x SAS/SATA drives per server blade with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10

v10

Unparalleled I/O Performance

vSERIES™ Blades allows up to 140 Gbps of throughput within a single 7U chassis housing fourteen 10GbE enabled servers. Optional 20Gbps 4x DDR InfiniBand switches available also. By maintaining optimal I/O performance, more VM's can be deployed per physical server improving overall hardware utilization.

Industry Leading CPU and Memory Density

Management 960Gbps total switch bandwidth (24-port) 160ns port-to-port switch latency - In-band InfiniBand IBML, Command-Line Interface (CLI) - vSERIES™ Blades compact up to 160 processor cores within a 7U chassis space. Since the number of VM's in Vmware ESX Server 3.5 scales up to 16 VM's within a multi-core CPU environment, vSERIES™ Blades can run up to 640 VM's with Memory expansion capability up to 672GB of DDR2 memory within the 7U chassis.

Unsurpassed Storage Flexibility

With up to 60 x 2.5" Dual hot-plug SAS or SATA Hard drives, vSERIES™ blades are leading the way with up to 30TB of storage within a single 7U chassis. With RAID configuration of 0,1,5,10 (more spindles = better performance) users will see even better performance and redundancy.

High Efficiency Power for Earth-Friendly Operations

90%+ peak efficiency for all blade power supply modules. N+1 redundant high efficiency power supplies in - 1400W or 2000W options.

Embedded Vmware virtualization Solutions

vSERIES™ blades are embedded with the latest versions of VMware® ESX Server virtualization software. Customers can deploy enterprise virtualization software out of the box and be creating virtual machines within minutes. Both the MDSV10 and MDSV14 solutions

Management Ease and Reassurance

The vSERIES™ management module provides total control managing and monitoring of individual server blades, power supplies, cooling fans, and networking switches remotely. System administrators enjoy the management ease and reassurance of continuous onboard instrumentation monitoring (temperature
sensors, power status, voltages and fan speed). Remote power control capabilities to reboot and/or reset the server are available as well as remote access to the BIOS configuration and operating system console information via SOL (Serial over LAN) or embedded KVM capabilities. Because the controller is a separate processor, all monitoring and control functions operate flawlessly regardless of CPU operation or system power-on status.
